- The Kano State Police rescued two kidnapped victims during a sting operation in Kaduna.
- One victim, 65 year old Musa Idris, was freed from the criminals’ den in Saya-Saya Village.
- Another operation led to the rescue of 19 year old Ashiru Murtala, abducted in Rogo LGA.
- The Police Command vowed to track down the suspects and ensure justice is served.
Operatives of the Kano State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad have rescued several abducted victims and uncovered a criminal hideout in Saya-Saya Village, Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the development in a statement, explaining that the operation followed credible intelligence gathered by the Surveillance Team attached to Bebeji Division.

According to Kiyawa, the police launched the operation after receiving information on about an escaped victim, 21 year old Abdul Hamid Bello, who had been kidnapped and beaten by his abductors but managed to flee. Bello later guided the officers to the kidnappers’ hideout in Saya-Saya, where another victim, 65 year old Musa Idris, was discovered and rescued.
When the operatives arrived at the scene, the suspected kidnappers fled into the bush, abandoning a motorcycle and a rope, which were recovered as exhibits. The rescued victims were immediately taken to safety and reunited with their families for medical care.
In a separate operation, on October 9, 2025, the same squad secured the freedom of 19 year old Ashiru Murtala, who was abducted in Beli Village, Rogo Local Government Area, on October 5. He was later found abandoned in a sugarcane farm in Hunkuyi, Kudan LGA of Kaduna State.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the swift efforts of the officers involved and directed that all rescued victims receive prompt medical attention. He assured residents that the Kano State Police Command remains committed to eradicating kidnapping and will intensify efforts to bring the fleeing suspects to justice.
