The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) president, Joe Ajaero, has been summoned by the police for questioning in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged criminal activities.

In a letter dated Monday, August 20, 2024, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Adamu Muazu, requested Ajaero’s presence at the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Complex in Abuja.

The letter revealed that the police are investigating a case involving criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime, and Ajaero has been implicated.

It stated that Ajaero’s interview is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at the IRT Complex.

Furthermore, the police warned Ajaero that failure to comply with the invitation would result in a warrant of arrest being issued against him.

The letter read:

This office is investigating a case of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime in which you have been implicated.

“You are therefore invited to interview with the undersigned on Tuesday, 20th August 2024, at 10:00 hrs prompt, at IRT Complex, Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja, through the Team Leader with telephone no. 08035179870 in connection with the above investigation.

“Be informed that in the event of failing to honour this letter, this office will have no alternative but to activate a warrant of arrest against you.”
