The Lagos State Police Command has summoned Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to answer questions over multiple rape allegations and other serious sexual offences, following petitions that raised concerns about public safety in the state.

The police invitation, issued on Sunday, directs Pastor Chris Okafor to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026.

According to a statement released by the Lagos State Police Command, the summons is connected to allegations of multiple rape, sexual misconduct, and other actions believed to be capable of causing a breakdown of law and order.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner in charge of SCID to carry out a detailed and unbiased investigation into the allegations.

“The investigation will be thorough, professional, and transparent. No individual is above the law, regardless of status,” the police said.

Authorities confirmed that Pastor Okafor has been formally served the invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to cooperate fully with investigators.

The police also disclosed that security arrangements have been put in place to protect alleged victims, urging anyone affected to come forward without fear.

“The identities of victims and witnesses will be kept strictly confidential and adequately protected,” the statement assured.

Members of the public with credible information or evidence related to the case have been encouraged to report directly to SCID Panti or through the Police Public Relations Department.

The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining public peace and ensuring justice is served without sentiment.
