A policeman has allegedly killed an operative of the Department of State Services in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
The bizarre incident follows the burning of the DSS office in Nnewi, Anambra State.
The deceased officer identified as Prince Nwachinaemere Ezemuonye Ozuzu, hails from Umuoyo, Irete in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.

The deceased was reportedly deployed for an official duty to Anambra following the razing of the DSS office in Nnewi. He was shot dead along Onitsha-Owerri road while returning to his station.

While details of his death are still sketchy, Ozuzu is said to be a victim of an accident discharge from a colleague.
Deacon Daniel Opara, a cousin to the deceased while confirming the incident, described it as unfortunate.
He said, “We are yet to get the details of what actually happened as it was alleged that he was killed from an accidental discharge from the gun of a Police Officer attached to his colleagues with whom he was on a Joint Task Force on an assignment to Anambra State.
“The family is suspecting a foul play as he was said to have been recently promoted.
“He joined the service about four to five years ago and was married with four children.”
The Imo State police Spokesman, CSP Mike Abattam, is yet to comment on the incident as at press time.
