The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission had revealed that while NELFUND disbursed N100bn for student loans, only N71bn has been accounted for. This has sparked widespread outrage, with the National Association of Nigerian Students staging a protest on Monday, blocking the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In a communiqué signed by NAPS President Eshiofune Oghayan and Senate President Oyewumi Ayomide, the union warned that it would mobilize nationwide protests and seek investigations if NELFUND fails to comply.
