Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, widely known as Sanku, has tragically lost his life in a car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State. His death was confirmed on Monday by actor Yemi Elesho through his social media pages.
In an eerie coincidence, Sanku had recently released a skit on August 4 portraying himself in heaven after death. In the video, he lamented the absence of many people he had expected to meet and humorously urged his partner to head to hell so they could enjoy life together.

Nollywood actors and fans have taken to social media to mourn the comedian. Actress Funmi Awelewa expressed her grief, saying, “The pain, the effort, the strength, the struggle… walai nothing make sense. I’m heartbroken. Even film sef never come out! It does not make sense.”
Earlier, influencer Jidex shared footage of the mangled vehicle, revealing that several passengers were injured in the crash. Sanku and another victim were critically hurt, but the comedian later succumbed to his injuries.
“This is heartbreaking. Someone who left home in good health is suddenly gone. It is painful, especially coming just a day after the passing of Phyna’s sister, Ruth Otabor,” Jidex wrote.
The tragic incident has left the Nigerian entertainment industry and Sanku’s fans in deep mourning.
