A revered Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abdul Azeez Muhammad Raji Bello Temitope Opeyemi, popularly known as Al-Falaky is dead.

Daily Report Nigeria gathered that Sheikh Al-Falaky died at his hometown in Iganna, Oyo State, on Wednesday evening.

The elderly cleric reportedly died at the age of 104 years.

Al-Falaky was a staunch follower of late Sheikh Ibrahim Niass, a prominent Islamic scholar from Senegal, who has large following in Nigeria.

His demise was confirmed by one his followers, Rafiu Olasunkanmi, who said, ““We accept his exit in good fate, because ‘Baba’ really tried. He was over 140 years of age. It’s not easy.”

Sheikh Al-Falaky has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has again called on the Nigerian government to grant bandits amnesty.

Sheikh Gumi also suggested that the government should further grant them educational scholarships.
