Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed that he canceled a $6,000 show to meet with fellow artist Davido in the United States this past June.
Portable explained that he made the decision to prioritize meeting Davido, but the encounter left him disappointed. According to Zazzu, Davido not only wasted his time but also failed to deliver on a promise of featuring him on a track.
He recalled the events in a recent interview with Echo Room, mentioning that he even canceled another show in Davido’s presence, trusting that the promised collaboration would be worth it. However, he was left feeling let down by the experience.
He also mentioned a previous incident where he accused Davido of giving him “bad advice” and expressed dissatisfaction with receiving a pair of shoes instead of the $10,000 he was expecting. Since Portable began publicly criticizing Davido, the DMW boss has unfollowed him on social media.
