Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, recently shared that Olamide, the renowned rapper and head of YBNL, is his godfather in the music industry.
In a candid interview with Echo Room, Portable opened up about the criticism Olamide faced for featuring on the remix of his hit song ‘Zazu’ back in 2021.
Despite the backlash, He highlighted his growth, noting that he has now gained international recognition, including a feature from British rapper Skepta.

“Olamide is my godfather. He brought me into the industry,” Portable said. “There was a time I messaged him, asking if there was an issue because he had stopped posting about me. People once said Olamide made a mistake by helping me, but now, I’ve gone international. Skepta has featured me, and I’m touring the world.”
