Portable Released by Lagos Police After Meeting Bail Conditions

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been released by the Lagos State Police Command after meeting the necessary bail conditions on Wednesday.

Portable’s arrest on Tuesday was in connection with a debt dispute with a car dealer, Ogunsanwo Temitope of Temmy Autos, over a N27 million G-Wagon purchase.

According to Temitope, Portable only paid N13 million and refused to settle the outstanding N14 million balance, leading to a petition and subsequent arrest.

Portable’s release was confirmed by the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The development is the latest in a series of controversies surrounding the Musician, who has been involved in various disputes since gaining prominence.

In March 2023, he was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for making damaging remarks about the police in two viral videos.

Also, in April 2023, he was arrested and charged with alleged assault and theft at the Ifo Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State.

An agreement signed by Portable and the car dealer surfaced online, indicating that he defaulted the payment terms.

The agreement outlined a payment plan for the N27 million G-Wagon, with a balance of N14 million still due.

As of the time of this report, it is unclear whether Portable has settled the outstanding debt following his release.
