Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has been released from custody by the Lagos State Police Command. His arrest stemmed from an alleged dispute over the payment for his luxury car, a G-Wagon.

Portable’s detention came after he reportedly failed to fulfill the complete payment for a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 he bought from Ogunsanwo Temitope, a car dealer in Lagos. Although he paid N13 million initially for the N27 million vehicle, he purportedly declined to settle the remaining N14 million balance.

Confirming Portable’s release, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, informed Vanguard on Wednesday evening. When questioned about the resolution of the matter, Hundeyin remarked, “I have no information on that, but he has been granted bail.”
