Portable Says Planned Protest is for the Poor, Opts Out

Portable

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has stated that the planned nationwide protest is for poor Nigerians. The protest, themed #EndBadGovernance, is scheduled from August 1 to August 10, 2024, and has sparked significant media discussion over the past week.

In a viral social media video, Portable explained that he joined the 2020 #EndSARS protest because he was poor at the time. He pointed out that billionaires like Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola do not participate in protests.

“They said that I joined the protest in 2020. It was then, poor thinking! Now that I have money, I am thinking like a wealthy person,” he said. “Have you ever seen Otedola and Dangote protesting? You won’t see people like Dele Momodu. Better mind your business! I didn’t have money back then. I’m now thinking like a rich man.”
