Chief Bode George, the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asked Prof Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the March 11 Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
This was due to recent complaints from the transmission of the presidential election results.
George asked INEC to extend the next elections until it was sure that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the server would work for the electronic transmission of election results.

The Atona Odua of Yorubaland
spoke in a recent interview with Arise TV on Thursday.
He further criticised INEC, saying the presidential election was poorly run and hence Nigerians cannot accept the election results.
He said:
“Let me advise Prof. Yakubu concerning the next election, that is, the Governorship and the House of Assembly elections; if he finds out that the BVAS and the servers are not going to work, let him stop the election and let us face what is just and what is right.
“Let him postpone the election until he can fix them so that the will of the people will prevail. We cannot continue in this darkness; that doesn’t make any sense.
“You started and people are now manipulating the results, is that what you are hailing? We are going into darkness, and people are clapping. I am ashamed to be a Nigerian. Can’t we be just, fair, equitable and have the fear of God.”
