The Nigerian Presidency, through Sunday Dare, labelled as fake a viral screenshot purporting to show a tweet from Donald Trump criticizing Tinubu’s handling of the recent terrorist attacks in Maiduguri.

The post, which began circulating early Tuesday morning, claimed that Trump described the situation in Nigeria as a “TOTAL DISASTER” and criticised Tinubu for being abroad on a “State Visit” in the United Kingdom while attacks, including suicide bombings in Maiduguri, reportedly took place.

The message urged immediate action to protect citizens and close borders, suggesting that Tinubu was neglecting his leadership duties.

Reacting to the viral post, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, labelled it “FAKE,” warning the public to verify information before sharing.

Dare stated, “This post does not exist on any whitehouse.gov platform or any of President Donald Trump’s social media pages. Verify before you post.”
