The Presidency has debunked viral social media reports claiming that a member of the kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa attempted to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The denial was issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who described the circulating video alleging the incident as entirely false.
Onanuga said there was no arrest of any kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa and no attempt to poison the President, urging the public to disregard the claims.
“No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to poison President Tinubu. Please ignore this fake news being disseminated by this video,” he said.

The viral video had claimed that a presidential chef was arrested over an alleged plot to poison the President, suggesting that security agencies had launched a discreet investigation following intelligence reports of suspicious activities within restricted areas of the villa.
Also reacting, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, described the report as fake and unfounded.
Ajayi said the video contained no element of truth and should be ignored by the public.
He urged Nigerians to rely on verified sources of information and avoid spreading misinformation capable of causing unnecessary panic.
