President Tinubu Departs Abuja for Two-Nation Trip to Japan, Brazil

  • President Bola Tinubu leaves Abuja on Friday for Japan and Brazil, with a stopover in Dubai.

  • Tinubu will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20–22.

  • In Brazil, he will hold a bilateral meeting with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and attend a business forum with Brazilian investors.

President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja on Friday morning ahead of his two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil. The President is scheduled to stop over in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before proceeding to Japan.

In Japan, President Tinubu is expected to attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22.

Following the conference, Tinubu will travel to Brasilia, the capital of the Federative Republic of Brazil, for a two-day state visit from Sunday, August 24 to Monday, August 25, following an invitation by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

While in Brazil, the President is slated to hold a bilateral meeting with his host and attend a business forum with Brazilian investors, aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
