The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Results Viewing Portal (IReV) has revealed Peter Obi won in Rivers State during the presidential election.

The development followed
investigations saying the results posted on the portal indicated that the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, won the February 25 presidential polls in the state.

According to reports, Obi won in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, South-south Nigeria.

Also, according to results uploaded on the INEC’s IReV, results uploaded from the results sheets of more than 95% of polling units in the 17 wards of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area showed that Obi, not the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, won in the council and the state.

INEC had declared that Tinubu received 80, 239 votes in Obio/Akpor, with Obi securing 3,829 votes.

The electoral umpire had also said that Tinubu scored 2,375 votes, to beat Obi who polled 2,212 votes in Degema LGA.

Meanwhile, findings held that the results posted on INEC viewing portal were contrary to what the commission declared.

On the IReV, results sheets uploaded as of March 16, revealed Tinubu got 17, 158 votes, and Obi had 73,311 votes.

This number was taken from results from 1,116 polling units, which represented 94.13% uploaded on the INEC IReV, as results from about 95 polling units, which represented 5.87% were yet to be uploaded within the period under review.

Not only that, checks revealed results from Degema LGA uploaded on the IReV were a bit different from the ones Tinubu won.
