The Founder and General Overseer of Christ Mercy Land and Deliverance Ministry, popularly known as Mercy City, Prophet Omoto Fufeyin, reacted to the fire incident that engulfed the church building on Tuesday.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the partners’ building that is currently being used as temporal Mercy City church was gutted by a fire on Tuesday morning.
Although no life was lost in the incident, the clergyman attributed the incident to a sign from God for him to build the main church.

In a Facebook live video shortly after the incident, Fufeyin explained that God had long told him to build the main Mercy City Auditorium.
He said;
“People will ask why this happened. The Lord told me “go and build my house”. That is just the partners’ house that we’ve been using for service.
“I’ve been promising God to build His house but the Lord said ‘build my House first’ but I took it for granted. The money is there but I was being stubborn,” he explained.
Fufeyin expressed delight that no life was lost in the incident and promised to commence the construction of the real Mercy City church immediately.
