Saudi Arabia has pulled the greatest upset of the tournament by inflicting a stinging defeat to Lionel Messi’s Argentina.

Saudi Arabia pulled an absolute upset in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup when the Green Falcons stunned Lionel Messi’s Argentina at the Lusail Stadium.

Argentina started on the front foot when Lionel Messi converted from the spot in the 10th minute, It remained the difference between the two sides at half-time. Argentina had three more goals, one from Messi and two from Martinez, all of which were disallowed for offside.

The Saudis came out in blistering form as they scored two goals in a space of five second-half minutes to turn the game on its head as they held on to secure a famous 2-1 win over AArgentina

The result ended Argentina’s 36-game unbeaten run, stretching back to defeat against Brazil three years ago, however, this was the greatest day in Saudi Arabian football history.
