  • Gonzalo Garcia’s header sealed Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Juventus in the Club World Cup.

  • Madrid grew stronger after early pressure, with Mbappé returning in the 68th minute.

  • They now await either Borussia Dortmund or Monterrey in the quarter-finals.

Gonzalo Garcia scored a 54th-minute header to give a 1-0 win to Real Madrid over Juventus at the Hard Rock Stadium and ushered them into the Club World Cup quarter-finals.

The Real Madrid side, with a composed defense by Alonso, withstood a barrage early on—Randal Kolo Muani’s chip floated just over the bar before they took control, maintaining calm possession and playing with incisive attacking intent.

The deadlock was lifted by a drift of a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold from the right, and Gonzalo rose at just the right time to steer in his third goal of the tournament.

Juventus tried to respond as Francisco Conceição forced an excellent save from Thibaut Courtois, and Nicolás González struck the post from close range but Madrid maintained their defensive solidity.

Kylian Mbappé rejoined the action in the 68th minute, bringing fresh spark alongside Arda Güler as Madrid hunted a second goal.

Even though Juventus laid siege late on, that lone strike proved enough: Madrid weathered the storm, dominated after the break, and now await the winner of Borussia Dortmund vs. Monterrey in the next round.
