Redesigned Naira Notes: First Bank Announces Saturday Operations

First Bank of Nigeria has announced Saturday operations in selected branches across the nation.

The move is in line with the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria that circulation of new Naira notes will commence December 15.

The announcement sent out to customers of the bank, read;

“Further to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) announcement that the new Naira notes will come into circulation from 15 December 2022, and existing Naira notes will cease being legal tenders from 31 January 2023, please note that in line with our drive to always put You First, a number of our branches nationwide will now provide Saturday banking services to our customers from 10 am – 1 pm, starting from Saturday, 5 November 2022.

“It is important to note that you can start depositing your Naira notes into your FirstBank accounts immediately, there will be no charges for cash returned/paid into your accounts.

“The present notes remain legal tenders and should not be rejected as a means of exchange for the purchase of goods and services
You can withdraw the new notes from your account once circulation begins in December 2022.
