Tension has erupted in the Ogwashi-Uku community of Delta State after relatives of actress Regina Daniels publicly demanded that her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, accept the bride price paid during their marriage.
The ultimatum, delivered through an open letter signed by community representative Favour Awele Obi, accuses Nwoko of ignoring tradition and using his political influence to intimidate members of Regina’s family. The letter was shared online by Regina’s brother, Sweezzy, and actor Stanley Ontop.

According to the kinsmen, their culture gives a woman the right to leave a marriage, and the relationship becomes officially dissolved once the bride price is returned. They insist Regina’s family has tried multiple times to return the payment, but Ned Nwoko allegedly refused to take it.
The letter further states that if he continues rejecting it, the bride price will be placed at the Ikeleke Quarter in Ogwashi-Uku, a symbolic traditional act that automatically ends the marriage with or without his approval.

The community also condemned the alleged arrest and intimidation of Regina’s relatives, calling it a direct insult to their customs and an abuse of power. They urged Nwoko to maintain peace and allow tradition to run its course.
Earlier this week, Regina Daniels claimed that Nwoko ordered the arrest of her brother and sister after she declined to reconcile with him. The couple, who married in 2019, share two sons.
As of the time of filing this report, Ned Nwoko has not responded publicly to the accusations or the ultimatum.
