At the 2024 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema made headlines when he unexpectedly left the stage during his performance on Sunday.
During his rendition of the hit song ‘Calm Down’ on Day 2 of the festival at Dix Park in Raleigh, Rema halted the show to express dissatisfaction with the sound quality. He then walked off the stage, citing the need for African artists to receive the same level of sound quality as their Western counterparts on international stages.
The Dreamville Festival, founded by American hip-hop star J. Cole, showcased a diverse lineup of musical talent.
