Remo Stars have been knocked out of the CAF Champions League after a 2-0 defeat to Morocco’s AS FAR. AS FAR also eliminated Remo Stars in the preliminary round of the competition last season, and this year, they won the two-legged tie with a 3-2 aggregate score.
Despite dominating the first half, AS FAR couldn’t break through Remo defense initially. However, Joel Beya scored eight minutes into the second half to give AS FAR the lead. The Moroccans then sealed their victory with a second goal, courtesy of a penalty converted by El Amine Zouhzouh in the 78th minute.
With this result, Nigeria now has only two clubs, Rangers and Enyimba, remaining in continental competitions.
