Renowned Niger Delta Journalist, Cletus Opukeme Loses Mother

Foremost Niger Delta journalist Cletus Opukeme has lost his mother, Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme to death.

Opukeme, who is the publisher of Daily Watch, announced the passing of his mother via a statement on Saturday.

According to Opukeme, his mother passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in a private hospital in Sagbama, Bayelsa state following a brief illness.

Born on February 15, 1951, in Tuomo town, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Opukeme was a pillar of strength to her family and community.

Mr. Cletus Opukeme announced his mother’s passing in a heartfelt press statement, expressing his deep sorrow and gratitude for the outpouring of support.

“The Opukeme family is deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved matriarch, Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme. Her passing leaves a void in our lives, but we take comfort in the memories of her love, wisdom, and unwavering support,” Mr. Opukeme said.

“The family will convene to determine the formal burial date, which will be announced shortly.

“Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme’s legacy will be cherished by her family, friends, and the community she touched through her life”.

However, condolences pour in for Mr. Cletus Opukeme and his family during this difficult time from the Ijaw Publishers Forum (IPF).
