Professor Jibril Aminu, a distinguished Nigerian academic, politician, and diplomat, has passed away at the age of 85. Aminu’s death was confirmed by various sources, including Senator Shehu Sani, who described him as one of Nigeria’s greatest intellectuals and visionary leaders.

– Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission: Served from 1975 to 1979
– Senator: Represented Adamawa Central senatorial district from 2003 to 2011

Senator Shehu Sani paid tribute to Aminu, saying: “The Nation has lost one of its greatest Intellectuals and visionary leaders. May Allah grant him Aljanna firdausi, Amin”.
Aminu’s funeral prayer was held at the Abuja National Mosque on Thursday, and he was survived by his wife, Fatima Bukar Mulima, and nine children.
