The House of Representatives has asked the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to pend its sanctions imposed on Mmesoma Ejikeme.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidate, was suspended from taking part in the exams for three years over alleged forgery of her results.
Wading into the development, the lawmakers lamented that the exam body acted unprofessionally in a matter involving a minor.
The described as extreme JAMB’s decision to withdraw Mmesoma’s result and banning her for three years, adding that the teenager may have been manipulated by an adult.

The Green Chambers subsequently set up an adhoc committee to investigate the issue and asked JAMB to stay action until the House concludes its investigation.

Meanwhile, Mmesoma in a now viral video, narrated how she obtained the result from JAMB portal and expressed shock that the body accused her of forging her results.
She said, “I printed the result from JAMB portal. They now saying that I forged my result is what I don’t know.
“I am traumatised that they accused me of forging my own result. I am not capable of forging result.”
In an interview on Channels Television, the candidate exonerated herself of any wrongdoing, saying;
“It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair,” she stressed.
Alleged UTME Result Forgery: Innoson Defends Mmesoma
JAMB had on Sunday, accused Mmesoma of “manipulating” her result in for the 2023 UTME.
“Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had actually scored 249 and not 362 she claimed,” the exam body insisted.
