The House of Representatives has announced plans to reconvene for an emergency sitting on February 17, 2026, following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s release of the 2027 Election timetable.

Spokesman Hon. Akin Rotimi said the emergency session aims to address legislative matters linked to the election schedule, emphasizing the constitutional significance and urgent national implications of the announcement.

“All legislative business relating to the matter will be addressed expeditiously. Members are strongly advised to prioritise attendance,” the statement read.
