Mary Nkeki, a Chibok schoolgirl who was rescued on Monday by the Nigerian army has sought to be reunited with her Boko Haram husband, Adam.

Nkeki was rescued after she spent nine years in the capacitive of Boko Haram.

The 27-year-old was paraded at Operation Hadin Kai’s theater command headquarters in Maiduguri, Borno state, on Monday.

Ranked 55th on the list of abducted schoolgirls, the rescuee disclosed that Adam facilitated her escape after he surrendered to the Nigerian army.

According to her, she gave birth to two children to her terrorist husband, however, they all died.

However, she affirmed she loved her terrorist husband and will want to be reunited with him.

She said:

As for marriage, my husband is still alive and I am still in love with him. I don’t know whether he is still in Dikwa or they brought him to Maiduguri but I will love to be reunited with him if it will be possible.”

Theater commander, Maj Gen Gold Chibuisi explained she was rescued by troops in Dikwa on August 14.

Chibuisi stated that the rescued female student was immediately taken to the military medical center for examination.

He said the woman has been certified stable and will be handed over to the state government for further evaluation.

He added that the development has brought the number of Chibok girls to be rescued in 2023 to 16.
