A group of retired military personnel have blocked the entrance of the Ministry of Finance, over their unpaid entitlements.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the protesters gathered at the location with banners, tents and chairs, which they set up on Tuesday, January 7.

This way, the gate which allows staffs into the premises was shut, forcing them to park their car outside.

Their demands could be seen hanging from the canopies, which includes:

“1.50% balance of our arrears,

“2. Bulk payment of S.D.A,

“3. Pay us our palliative.”

The retirees had dragged a similar protest in December, 2024, where they demanded for their full entitlement, but the Federal government ended up paying them 59%, with promises to pay the rest.

The Governor of Bauchi State has let him of some commissioner under his cabinet.

This comes after his reshuffling of the cabinet. He also replaced the fired commissioners with five other people.
