Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has thrown his support behind Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season, believing the Gunners can finally end Manchester City’s dominance.
Manchester City have claimed the title for four consecutive years, setting a new benchmark in English football. However, Ferdinand feels that Arsenal, who have finished second in the last two seasons, are well-positioned to topple the Cityzens this time around.
“It’s hard to bet against City given their success over the last four seasons,” Ferdinand said on TNT Sports. “They’ve set a new standard with four titles in a row. But I think Arsenal, with Calafiori coming in on the left-hand side, could have what it takes. He’s a fantastic player who’s thrived at Bologna under Thiago Motta and understands the kind of football Arteta wants to play.”

Rio Ferdinand added that Calafiori’s addition could address a weakness in Arsenal’s squad, providing balance and stability that could help push them over the line. “If he can shore up that area, I think Arsenal might have what it takes to win it. But they’ll need that hunger.”
Additionally, Rio Ferdinand predicted that Manchester United will secure a return to the Champions League, forecasting that Liverpool will finish third and United will take fourth place.
