Rivers State Sole Administrator, Ibok Ibas, has vowed to complete the Rivers State House of Assembly complex within six months.

Ibas made this promise during an inspection of the complex, where he urged the contractor to speed up work and deliver as agreed.

The completion of the complex is part of Ibas’ mandate to restore full and effective legislative activities in the state.
Rivers State Sole Administrator, Ibok Ibas, has expressed his determination to complete the Rivers State House of Assembly complex within six months.
Ibas made this promise during an inspection of the complex, where he was accompanied by the Head of Rivers State Civil Service, Dr. George Nwaeke.
According to Ibas, “I had been at the Executive arm of the State governance structure, and one of the pillars that is missing for now is the legislature, and for them to function effectively, they also need a place to work from.”
He emphasized that part of his mandate includes restoring full and effective legislative activities in the state.

Ibas urged the contractor handling the project to speed up work and deliver as mutually agreed.
He stated, “They (contractor) have a schedule and they have timelines that I believe they will like to adhere to. I think the State has done its own bit by providing the necessary funds, I was briefed. So the onus is on them to make sure that they keep to the terms.”

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has expressed shock and disappointment over the disparaging comments made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, against the organization and its leadership.
The association called on the President of the federation, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to put his minister in order and ensure respect for the region’s leaders as they mitigate peace in Rivers State.
