A combined team of security operatives in the early hours of Friday sealed a hotel, bar and a filling station in Port Harcourt reportedly owned by a member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe.
Igwe is an ally of former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Austin Opara, who is a staunch supporter of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
The facilities sealed are Preray Hotel at Eagle Island, said to be owned by Ikenda Chinda, Priscy’s Bar in Elekahia, a lounge belonging to Ogbonda Jones, and Mega Tool Filling Station along Ojoto Street in the Diobu axis, all owned by allies of Opara in the Rivers State capital.

Though, the reason for the action could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, Igwe, while reacting to the development on Friday, said the action of security agencies on his filling station is “politically motivated”.
This is coming days after Governor Nyesom Wike alleged that some politicians were recruiting cultists and ex-convicts to destabilise the state.
