The PDP Governors’ Forum argued that the President’s actions were unconstitutional and threatened Nigeria’s democratic principles.

The forum’s decision to challenge the declaration in court has been supported by various groups and individuals, including the Ijaw Youth Council, which has filed a lawsuit against the Federal Government at the ECOWAS Court.

The development has sparked mixed reactions, with some governors and lawmakers supporting the declaration, while others have condemned it.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State expressed support for the declaration, describing it as a crucial move to ensure national security.

In contrast, Senator Seriake Dickson opposed the emergency rule, describing it as unconstitutional.

The National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, dismissed the protests, saying, “There is no need to stir up the emotions of Nigerians, as the aggrieved lawmakers are doing, insisting that the President made the right decision.”
