Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has generously rewarded Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali with a sum of N20 million for his outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. In addition to the monetary reward, Fubara also honored Nwabali with the prestigious Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State.
Acknowledging the collective effort behind the team’s success, Governor Fubara announced a further N30 million reward for the backroom staff of the Super Eagles, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the team’s achievements.

Nwabali emerged as one of the standout performers for the Super Eagles throughout the tournament, which was hosted by Cote d’Ivoire. The 26-year-old goalkeeper showcased his skill and resilience in all seven games played by Nigeria, earning praise for his exceptional performances.
His remarkable contributions were highlighted by his title as Man of the Match in the Super Eagles’ semi-final victory against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, further solidifying his status as a key player for the national team.
With his impressive displays on the international stage, Nwabali has attracted attention from various quarters, including rumors of a potential move away from his current club, Chippa United, in South Africa.
