A group of armed robbers, on Saturday, reportedly invaded the Okuku Town in Odo- Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.

It was gathered that the robbers invaded the bank and fired sporadically at about 1 pm.

However, it could not be ascertained whether the robbers carted away money as of press time.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Yemisi Opalola, also confirmed the attack.

The PPRO could not, however, confirm the name of the bank, while giving assurance that efforts were on to arrest the robbers.

According to Opalola, the Police, Olawale Olokode, had ordered an anti-robbery team to fetch and arrest the robbers.

Okuku is the hometown of the former military governor of Lagos State and later elected governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
