Robbers Raid Five Banks in Edo Banks

Five people, including police officers, were killed on Thursday during a robbery invasion at commercial banks in Uromi, the headquarters of Edo State’s Esan North-East Local Government Area.

Kontongs Bello, the spokesman for the state police command, confirmed the robbery attacks to our correspondent but did not provide further details.

Our correspondent learned that the armed robbers stole large sums of money from the banks that were targeted.

The attacks were “too coordinated in commando-style, and the armed robbers launched the attacks simultaneously,” according to a community resident who did not want his name printed. This is a first in this town.”

According to other sources in town, four commercial banks in town were affected.

“The armed robbers’ sporadic shots caused panic in the town.” The robbers were well-prepared. “Everyone is just running helter-skelter,” said another source.
