Manchester City midfielder Rodri has shared his candid thoughts on the 2024 Ballon d’Or race.
The Spain international acknowledged that there is considerable support encouraging him to win the prestigious award but admitted that he doesn’t focus on the individual accolade.
Rodri, who was recently named among the 30 candidates for the Ballon d’Or, spoke to the media before Manchester City’s Champions League match against Inter Milan. He said, “I’m incredibly happy with what I’ve achieved in recent years, including Manchester City’s successes and winning the Euros with Spain. It’s the result of hard work, consistency, and perseverance.
“I sense that people are recognizing my efforts and pushing for me to win the Ballon d’Or. However, it’s not something I dwell on.”
