Manchester City midfielder Rodri is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a significant injury.

He was substituted during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, and initial tests suggest he has torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

According to ESPN, further examinations are planned, but indications strongly point to an ACL tear.

The 28-year-old, who has been nominated for next month’s Ballon d’Or award, is likely to undergo surgery in Barcelona.

Rodri’s crucial role in Pep Guardiola’s squad is well-known, with the team losing three out of four Premier League matches he missed last season, highlighting just how important he is to their success.
