Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has named his teammate Vinicius Junior as the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Vinicius played a pivotal role in leading Real Madrid to both La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles last season. The 23-year-old notched double digits in both goals and assists across all competitions.

Rodrygo expressed his support for Vinicius as the main contender for the prestigious award, telling Globoesporte via Madrid Universal: “We know that Vini is the main candidate to win it [Ballon d’Or] and I support this decision because he is my teammate.”
