Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has pointed out a key issue facing the current team following their 2024 Community Shield loss to Manchester City on penalties.

United seemed poised to win after Alejandro Garnacho’s late goal, but City equalized in the final moments and secured victory in the penalty shootout.

Speaking to ITV, Roy Keane said, “Manchester United’s squad is strong, but they have a tendency to pick up a lot of injuries. If they can keep most players fit, there’s reason to be optimistic for the start of the season. Erik ten Hag should be encouraged by what he saw out there.”
