The Russian army claims to have taken control of Kherson, Ukraine’s most strategically important city.

On Wednesday, Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine entered its seventh day, with Russian forces also fighting to take over the capital city of Kyiv.

“Russian divisions of the armed forces have fully control of the regional center of Kherson,” said Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for Russia’s defense ministry.

According to him, public services and transportation are not being disrupted and are continuing to operate normally.

“There are no food or essential goods shortages in the city,” he said.

According to the spokesperson, Russian forces are currently in talks with local authorities to ensure that order is maintained.
