Terry Brunk, better known to fans as Sabu, passed away on May 11, 2025, at the age of 60.

Sabu: Hardcore Wrestling’s Fearless Innovator

Sabu was a trailblazer trained by his legendary uncle, WWE Hall of Famer The Sheik, he became a household name during the 1990s heyday of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

His matches pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible in professional wrestling.

He introduced brutal stunts involving barbed wire, tables, and other dangerous implements.

These left audiences both captivated and horrified.

Sabu’s legendary rivalries with Rob Van Dam, Tazz, and The Sandman showcased his rare ability to combine technical wrestling with jaw-dropping, reckless daredevil stunts.

His 2006 move to WWE took his extreme style to a broader audience.
