A former Vice President of Nigeria, Namadi Sambo, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sambo’s defection was announced on X (formerly recognized as Twitter) by Imran Muhammad, a popular chieftain of the APC in Kaduna State.

His resignation from the PDP has left many in surprise within and outside the political space, wondering what his ambitions could be.
Sources suggest that Sambo’s defection coming from the PDP could be related to the ongoing internal crisis within the party.
Sambo previously served as Vice President of Nigeria from between 2010 to 2015 under President Goodluck JJonathan’s dministration.

The architect also was Governor of Kaduna State, overseeing the state’s adfairs from 2007 to 2010.
He has become the latest high-profiled politician to jump ship from the PDP to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
