Samuel Kalu’s contract with Watford has been terminated by mutual consent, the club announced on Saturday.
Kalu joined Watford from Bordeaux in January but struggled to secure regular playing time. He was subsequently loaned to Lausanne Sport in the Swiss Super League for the 2023/2024 season.
During his time at Watford, Samuel Kalu faced persistent injuries and a dip in form, making just 13 appearances across all competitions, including four in the Premier League, without any goal contributions. While on loan at Lausanne-Sport, he showed better form, contributing to five goals in 21 appearances.
Now a free agent following his contract termination on August 30, the 27-year-old is free to join a new club even though the summer transfer window has closed.
