Adegboyega Awomolo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has repaid a N2 million student loan he borrowed 50 years ago to complete his law degree at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).

The loan was provided by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Awomolo expressed gratitude for the opportunity and commended NELFUND’s transparency and accountability in managing student loans. This repayment is the second in recent weeks, following a N3,189,000 refund by former lawmaker Lanre Laoshe.

The funds will be used to support current students in need of financial assistance. NELFUND has praised Awomolo’s commitment to repaying the loan, stating that it demonstrates his unwavering commitment to the nation.
