Former senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani has cautioned President Bola Tinubu-led administration against spending the N3.2 trillion budgeted for security and defence on frivolities.
Sani said this has been the case with previous budgets, with money being looted.
The former lawmaker who was active in the 8th National Assembly, was commenting on the N27.5 trillion 2024 budget submitted by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.

DAILY REPORT NG understands that the sum of N3.2 trillion was set out for security and defence in the budget.
Sani wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “In the past, trillions were budgeted for defence and security but ended up being looted, and many soldiers complained of lack of food, weapons, and equipment, and their welfare generally neglected,”
“The N3.2 trillion budgeted for security in 2024 should be mindful of this. Defence and security budgets should not be wasted on building event centres, hotels, and shopping malls while terrorists are killing people every day in the country,”
