Ongoing reform: Third phase of vehicle distribution to senior civil servants
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented official vehicles to Level 17 officers in the state public service as part of efforts to enhance service delivery.
The governor said the beneficiaries, who are directors across ministries, departments and agencies, play critical roles in governance and policy implementation.

“I presented new official vehicles to our Level 17 officers across the Lagos State Public Service. These are Directors who play a key role in how our Ministries, Departments, and Agencies deliver results,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu explained that equipping top civil servants is a deliberate strategy to improve performance. “A motivated public service is at the heart of good governance. When people are properly equipped, they take more ownership, stay focused, and deliver with greater commitment,” he added.
He noted that the initiative forms part of ongoing reforms to strengthen efficiency within the system.
“This is part of our ongoing effort to strengthen service delivery and raise the standard of performance across the system,” the governor stated.
The latest distribution marks the third phase of such intervention.
In January 2023, shortly after his re-election, the governor approved 100 vehicles for Grade Level 17 officers, followed by another batch in July 2024.
Level 17 represents the highest cadre in Nigeria’s civil service, occupied by directors who head departments and serve as the most senior career officials in government institutions.
