The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has come under fire following the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwola.

Bamise, who went missing after boarding a BRT bus from the Chevron Bus Stop, was discovered dead on Carter Bridge by the Ogogoro community on Lagos Island, according to Police spokesman Adekunle Ajisebutu.

Bamise’s case went viral after her mother requested government assistance in saving her daughter in a video.

She had boarded a BRT bus with the number 240257 en route Oshodi when she sensed danger and asked her friends to pray for her.

Residents of Lagos who want justice for Bamise have petitioned Sanwo-Olu to take over the case.

Lamenting the state’s growing insecurity, Nigerians wondered what mode of transportation is safe if a citizen can be kidnapped in a government-owned vehicle.
