Sanwo-Olu Reveals Who Ordered #LekkiMassacre, Promises Prosecution | Daily Report Nigeria

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state has revealed the identities of who ordered the infamous Tuesday October 20 shooting of peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in the state.

The Governor in an interview with CNN disclosed that the Nigerian Army was entirely behind the inhumane incident that attracted global condemnation.

The military had earlier denied it’s involvement in the shooting, saying it’s men were not present at the venue of the incident, while insisting that all footages that littered the internet were doctored.

However, Sanwo-Olu who spoke to CNN on Monday, stated that footages in his before him shows that the Nigerian Army ordered the massacre.

He further promised that everyone found culpable of the act will be persecuted after due and proper investigations.

He said; “From the footage that we could see, it seems to be that men in military uniform, which should be Nigerians Army ordered the shooting.

”They will be available for the judicial panel to review. They will certainly be held accountable, we will do everything possible to make sure they are held accountable.

“When the report is out we will channel it to all the relevant authorities in the state to ensure that everyone found culpable is accountable for the act.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu had earlier denied fatalities from the incident before apologizing to victims and owners of destroyed properties in the middle of the protests.

He also asserted that the infamous massacre has left a bad spot in the state’s history.
